The Project Raptor China army in version 9.1.27 builds 37 units against 17 in Zero Hour. Its core is the same: the Battlemaster, the Overlord, Dragon Tanks and Gattling Tanks. On top of that the mod adds the Tiger tank, the Ka-50 and Venom helicopters, the MiG "White Tiger", the Iron Dragon stealth bomber, the Crusher super artillery and a navy. Below are the numbers from the mod files, the real prototypes of the hardware and China's three generals.

What changed compared to Zero Hour
The mod kept China's foundation but recalculated prices and toughness. What you notice in the first minutes:
- The Overlord costs 2800 instead of 2000 and takes 30 seconds to build. It has 1200 health instead of 1100, and its gun deals 60 at range 200 (80 at 175 in Zero Hour).
- The Hacker got cheaper, 555, and builds in 8 seconds instead of 20. The Black Lotus, on the other hand, costs 2500 instead of 1500.
- The Air Field has eight aircraft instead of two: the MiG and the Helix are joined by the Ka-50, the Venom, the MiG "White Tiger", two bombers and a special forces assault helicopter.
- China has a navy now: the Naval Yard for 2500 builds the Gattling frigate.
- The Command Center takes 12000 damage instead of 5000, and the Nuclear Missile costs 10000 instead of 5000.
- The Propaganda Center has 4800 health instead of 1000, and without it you can't build most of the new hardware.
China units in Raptor
Costs, build times and health are taken from the mod's 9.1.27 INI files. Damage is per shot of the main weapon, range is in game units. Units carried over from Zero Hour keep their official names, new ones are listed by their real designations or a translation of the mod name. China's files also contain an anti-personnel tank and the ROV, but they sit on the second page of the War Factory menu, and the button that switches to it is disabled for the base China. That's why they aren't in the tables.
Infantry
| Unit | Cost | Time, s | Health | Weapon: damage / range |

Red Guards leave the Barracks in pairs. The Barracks offer two snipers, and both show up in the menu simply as "Sniper". The one for 1300 is unlocked with a general's point at rank 3 and can shoot vehicle drivers, after which your infantry takes the vehicle. The other, for 1600, reaches farther and sees hidden enemies, and you can keep up to twelve of them. The Mortar Trooper appears only in the Mobile Barracks menu.

The Talon missiles are added to the Tiger with an upgrade at the War Factory. The Raider rolls out empty, and its machine gun or gun is bought separately. The Hacker Van is built at the Propaganda Center, with a limit of two. Money is hauled by the Supply Truck (600, 300 health) and the new Heavy Supply Truck: 800, 600 health and 800 per trip. The dozer costs 1000.

| Artillery Gun | 1250 | 20 | 1200 |
| Nuclear Missile | 10000 | 65 | 4000 |
In Raptor the Gattling Cannon comes already improved: it builds in 15 seconds instead of 25 and hits ground targets at 225 and aircraft at 400. It is joined by the Fire Defense (a flamethrower dealing 15 at 200) and the Artillery Gun (125 at 350). The Recon Center scans a chosen square of the map and reveals hidden enemy troops, and you can build up to four of them.
Build the Propaganda Center among the first. Until you have it, the menu offers only Red Guards, Tank Hunters, Flame Troopers, the Battlemaster, the Dragon Tank, the Gattling Tank, the Raider, the Troop Crawler, the MiG and the Helix. The Nuclear Missile costs 10000 and builds in 65 seconds, twice the price in Zero Hour.
Real-world prototypes of China units in Raptor
Units carried over from Zero Hour (Red Guard, Battlemaster, Overlord, Dragon Tank, Helix, MiG and others) are covered on the page about the China army in the original game. Here we look only at what the mod adds.
- Ka-50 Black Shark. A Soviet single-seat attack helicopter from the Kamov design bureau, with coaxial rotors. First flight in 1982, adopted in 1995. The "Hokum A" in the unit's name comes from its NATO reporting name. It is armed with a 30 mm 2A42 cannon and was the first helicopter with an ejection seat for the pilot.
- MiG "White Tiger". The model in the files is called NVMiG31, so this is the MiG-31. It's a Soviet two-seat long-range interceptor: first flight in 1975, in service since 1981, NATO name Foxhound. Its R-33 missiles reached 120 km, and in the mod the White Tiger also carries China's longest-range missiles. The MiG-31 was never sold to China: it was flown by the USSR, Russia and Kazakhstan.
- Chinese bomber. The model is called nvbeagle. Beagle is NATO's name for the Soviet Il-28, which first flew in 1948 and entered service in 1950. After the split with the USSR in the late 1950s, China set up production of its own copy, called the H-5.
- Venom helicopter. It shares only the name with the American UH-1Y Venom, which the US Marine Corps adopted in 2008. The UH-1Y is a medium utility helicopter, while the mod's Venom is large, with five Gatling guns and six infantry seats.
- Iron Dragon. No prototype. China really is building its own stealth bomber: the H-20 program was announced in 2016, but the aircraft has never been shown in public.
- Flame Trooper. China's army still has backpack flamethrowers. This is the Type 74, a Chinese copy of the Soviet LPO-50, used in the 1979 war with Vietnam. The US armed forces gave up flamethrowers in 1978.
- Grenadier. The mod's tooltip gives him a six-shot grenade launcher. The best-known weapon of this type is the South African 40 mm Milkor MGL, which appeared in 1983.
- Gattling frigate. No specific prototype. Chinese ships do carry multi-barrel guns: the seven-barrel 30 mm Type 730 system has served on destroyers and frigates since 2003.
- Made-up hardware. The Tiger tank, the Raider, the Crusher, the Hacker Van, the Mobile Barracks, the Special Forces APC and the special forces assault helicopter have no prototypes. The Tiger shares its name with the German heavy tank of World War II, but the mod's tooltip calls it a medium tank.
China generals in Raptor
All three Chinese generals from Zero Hour are still in the mod, but their armies were rewritten. To see how they looked in the original, check the pages on General Kwai, General Tao and General Fai in the main wiki.
General Kwai: tanks
Kwai has his own Small War Factory for 1200. It builds the Sentinel (500, 270 health) and Spider (700, 400 health) light tanks, the ROV, the Tiger and the rocket-armed MT-LB (1350, 500 health). Kwai's heavy tank is the Emperor: 2800, 1200 health, a cannon dealing 80 at 200. At the top sit two super units: the Destroyer tank (7000, 1750 health, a cannon dealing 230 at 250) and the Grad artillery for 10000 with range 450. There's only one real prototype here: the MT-LB, a Soviet light armored tractor adopted in 1964.
General Tao: nuclear weapons
Tao's most expensive unit is the Topol-M launcher for 8000, with a missile dealing 240 damage at 700. He also has the Su-34 (1900), the Ka-52 Alligator helicopter (2300), a submarine (4500, 2500 health, a cruise missile with range 600) and the Devastator super tank for 5000 with 2600 health. The Uberlord tank costs the same as the Overlord, 2800, but moves twice as fast. Two of these machines have real prototypes. The RT-2PM2 Topol-M is a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile, and its silo version was adopted in 2000. The Ka-52 is the two-seat version of the Ka-50, in service since 2011, NATO name Hokum B.
General Fai: infantry
Fai has Mini-Gunners (220, they hit aircraft at 350), a Propaganda Truck (800), a Mobile Infantry Bunker (3800, 1400 health) and the Centaur super IFV for 5500 with 1000 health and a cannon dealing 90 at 200. His infantry is cheaper: the Chinese Sniper costs 900 instead of 1300, the Mortar Trooper 400 instead of 800. There are two assault helicopters, one with Red Guards (2800) and one with special forces (3500), and a Fortified Bunker for 2000. None of this hardware has a direct prototype.
Playing China in Raptor on a phone
Project Raptor 9.1.27 works in ZeroFront. For phones the mod is packed into .big archives, and the build is in the bot, under "Game files & mods" → Project Raptor. A regular loose install (the Data\INI and Art folders) crashes on a phone or takes minutes to load.
China's army in Raptor rests on armor backed by artillery. With your fingers it's easiest to run through the group bar on the left:
- Box-select Battlemasters, Tigers and Overlords (press and drag) and save them to "1".
- Keep Gattling Tanks and Ka-50s in "2": they are your cover against aircraft.
- Save the Inferno Cannon, Nuke Cannon and Crusher to "3" and keep them behind the tanks: they reach targets from 360–700.
A double tap on a unit selects every unit of that type on screen, a quick way to gather Dragon Tanks or Gattling Tanks. The first minutes go to the economy and the Propaganda Center, and a Command Center with 12000 health won't fall to a quick raid anyway. The other gestures are on the phone controls page.
FAQ
What new units does China get in Project Raptor?
The base Chinese menu has 20 new units. The main ones are the Tiger tank, the Ka-50 Black Shark, the Venom helicopter, the MiG "White Tiger", the Iron Dragon, the Crusher and the Gattling frigate. New infantry: the Grenadier, the Flame Trooper, the Mortar Trooper, Chinese Special Forces and two snipers.
Why aren't the Tiger and the Ka-50 in the menu?
You need the Propaganda Center: it unlocks most of the new army, from the Tiger to the bombers. Some units also wait for a rank: the MiG "White Tiger" opens at rank 2, the Iron Dragon and the special forces hardware at rank 3, the Crusher at rank 4.
How much does the MiG "White Tiger" cost?
3200 and 35 seconds to build. It has 240 health and missiles dealing 550 damage at range 850, the same as the F-22 in the USA army in Raptor. You can't keep more than four of these jets.
Does China have a navy?
Yes. The Naval Yard costs 2500 and requires a Supply Center. It builds the Gattling frigate for 1200: 500 health and a machine gun with range 300 that also fires at aircraft. General Tao's Naval Yard also has a submarine for 4500.
Does Project Raptor work on a phone?
Yes, Project Raptor 9.1.27 works in ZeroFront. For phones the mod is packed into .big archives, and the build is in the bot, under "Game files & mods" → Project Raptor. A regular loose install crashes on a phone or takes minutes to load. Details are on the mod's overview page.
